How your information is handled

What makes a good first CV?

Use real examples, keep it clear and tailor it to the role. One page is usually enough when you’re leaving school; two pages are fine when you have more to include. No paid experience? Projects, volunteering and informal responsibilities count too.

Leave out your photo, age, date of birth, full address, National Insurance number and other people’s contact details. You don’t need to explain personal or medical circumstances.

This version follows UK guidance for applicants aged 16 and over. Other countries will be added after local review.
